New Delhi, 16 June 2020: In India, there are 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and IIEST Shibpur, which comes under NIT Council and are declared National Institutes of Importance. Out of these, nine NITs who have opened their Admission window for PhD programmes for July/August 2020.
PhD Programmes in NITs are popular as these institutes offer Institutional Fellowships as per Ministry of HRD Guidelines.
These nine NITs include: NIT Allahabad, NIT Patna, IIEST Shibpur, NIT Uttarakhand, NIT Kurukhetra, NIT Manipur, NIT Nagaland, NIT Rourkela, and NIT Nagpur.
Out of these 31 NITs, NIT Warangal, NIT Surat, NIT Silchar, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Trichy, NIT Calicut and NIT Andhra Pradesh have already notified and closed application window for July 2020.
