Mumbai: In India, generally PhD admission takes place in two sessions (July –August & January-February). The admission process to PhD programmes of major universities is at the last phase. PhD tests, selection process and result announcement of most of these universities are almost over for the session commencing July 2017.
Still there are some Universities or Institutions that are accepting PhD admission applications. The students who have not got any seat in PhD programmes till now, they can apply and try their luck. There are more than 12 universities or institutes where PhD admission window is open and candidates can apply for doctoral programmes.
The prominent universities where PhD admissions are open now are as followed: Punjab University, NIT Bhopal, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Thapar University University, Central University of Gujarat, and National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM). Also admission for PhD progarmmes are open in Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Jain University, Bennett University, and others.
The Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), has Invited online applications from Engineering Post-graduates (M. E. / M. Tech. /Equivalent Degree) for admission to DGFS-Ph.D. programme under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). The closing date here is 23 June 2017. The selected students will be awarded fellowships under the DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme (DGFS-Ph.D.) for pursuing PhD under the aegis of HBNI.
Punjab University, Chandigarh, a leading public university in India, will conduct MPhil & PhD ENTRANCE TEST-2017 on 09 July 2017 (Sunday) in the following faculties of Arts; Business Management & Commerce; Design & Fine Arts; Education; Engineering; Languages; Law; and Science. The entrance test will be held in Chandigarh only. There are a total of 241 MPhil seats are available for admission. Meanwhile, a total of 489 seats available for PhD admission in the various streams via MPhil & PhD Entrance Test 2017 of Punjab University. The closing date for submission of online application is 21 June 2017.
Central University of Himachal Pradesh, a leading central university in India, is accepting PhD admission applications for 2017. The total number of vacant seats is 120. The closing date for submission of PhD application is 31 July 2017.
PhD admission is open in Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior for academic session 2017-18. The research streams available for PhD admission is given below: Computer Science & Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Management , Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics. The closing date for submission of online application is 23 June 2017.
Further, PhD admissions under various programmes are open in private universities such as Thapar University and Jain University.
