Bangalore, 31 May 2021: Raman Research Institute (RRI), an institute of scientific research funded by Govt of India, has announced PhD Admission for 2021-22. PhD Scholars are eligible for fellowships.

On successful completion of the course work and other requirements for confirmation of their candidature, research students will be registered for a PhD degree with the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Students are paid a scholarship of Rs. 31,000/- per month for the first two years and Rs.35,000/- per month thereafter for the next three years, subject to satisfactory progress.

Eligibility Conditions: Candidates seeking admission in PhD programme must have a regular MSc degree in Physics / Mathematics or M.E./M.Tech degree in Engineering. Candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in aggregate or equivalent for the qualifying degree.

Students who expect to complete their final degree in the academic year 2020- 2021 may also apply, provided they can produce their final score card at the time of admission. Reservations for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be as per norms.

Final Selection: The final selection of all the candidates is based on performance in written test and/or interviews to be held at RRI tentatively during July 2021. Call letters for interviews will be sent around second or third week of June 2021.

Key Dates: The closing date for submission of application is 14 June 2021.
