Kolkata, 14 April 2023: Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata, Department of Atomic Energy has released PhD Admission Notification for August 2023 session. The programme starts with a pre-Ph.D. course work, popularly known as Post M.Sc. programme. PhD programmes are available in Physics (Experimental and Theoretical) and Biophysical Sciences.
Approximate number of Intake:
Candidates with SINP Fellowship: 20
Candidates with Extramural Fellowship: 15
Key Dates: The closing date for submission of application is 25 April 2023. Session will start from August 2023.
Eligibility
Physics: Masters’ degree in Physics.
Biophysical Sciences:
Biophysical Sciences: Master’s degree in Physics or Chemistry (with Life Science at 10+2 level) or Master’s degree in Life Sciences (with Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or
MTech in Biotechnology (with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Life Science at 10+2 level).
Students appearing in the final examinations for their Master’s degree during the current academic session may also apply.
However, their admission will be made provisional till they successfully obtain their final year mark sheet / Master’s degree certificate in compliance with the cut-off requirement of SINP screening procedure (to be announced later).
Number of Fellowships: The candidates with SINP Fellowship is 20. The candidates with Extramural Fellowship is 20.
