New Delhi, 06 May 2024: In India, there are 32 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and more than 20 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). These premier research and education institutes admit PhD scholars in two sessions. Now Admission for Semester I of 2024-25 session has commenced.
As on 10 May 2024, there are Seven NITs announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2024-25. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships. The total number of PhD seats are expected to be above 1000 seats.

Rourkela, Odisha, 03 May 2023: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, has released PhD Admission notification for Autumn (July) 2024 Semester commencing from July 2024.
Admission will be given preferably to the applicants who are eligible for Institute fellowship or have qualified for External fellowship. However, admission may also be considered without fellowship. Students with external fellowship like JRF-NET are especially encouraged to apply.

Shillong, 29 March 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT ), Meghalaya, an Institute of National Importance, has announced PhD Admission for Autumn 2024 session. The PhD Programs, in Full-time (FT) and Sponsored Part-time modes, are offered in 08 departments of the institute.
