Guwahati, 04 March 2026: Gauhati University, a state university, invites applications into the PhD Program (Spring Session) for 2026.
JRF & Other fellowship holders (i.e. all those who have qualified in a National Level eligibility test). Recipients of CSIR/UGC-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF, GATE (with valid score) and any National Level Fellowship/ Scholarship (awarded for the PhD programme by a National Agency, such as INSPIRE Fellowship, Ministry of Education, etc.) are eligible to apply.
Scholars who are working in a project but have not qualified in any of these awards are not eligible for this category.

Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University Announces PhD Admission for 120 Seats in 17 Departments
Purulia, 03 March 2026: Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, a public state university in Purulia, West Bengal, has announced PhD Admission Course -1, 2026.
List of Departments: Anthropology & Tribal Studies, Bengali, Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Santali , Sociology and Zoology.
Candidates qualified in UGC-NET/JRF/NET-LS/SET/GATE/CEED/INSPIRE/WISE and similar National Level Tests will be considered directly for interview/viva-voce.
In case of a candidate holding a qualifying degree from other University, admission for the Ph.D. programme will proceed after determination of equivalence of the qualifying degree by the relevant University body and fulfillment of the admission criteria.
