University of Lucknow PhD Admission 2021-22: 442 Seats Full Time PhD & 89 Seats for Part Time PhD

Lucknow, 15 March 2021: University of Lucknow, a government owned research university in Uttar Pradesh, has released PhD Admission Notification for 2021-22. The total number of PhD vacant seats are 4442 under Full Time category and 89 PhD Seats under Part Time Category.

These Doctoral seats are available both at Lucknow University and its affiliated colleges.

As per LU PhD Ordinance 2020 the admission would be done on the basis of Research Entrance Test (RET).

Key Dates:  Last date of online form submission without Late Fee is 15 April 2021.

Last date of online form submission with Late Fee Monday, February 22 April 2021.

Application Fee per subject:

General and OBC Rs. 2000.00 (With late fee Rs. 3000.00)

SC and ST Rs. 1000.00 (With late fee Rs. 2000.00)

Eligibility Conditions: Candidates for admission to the PhD programme shall have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution.

A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.

A person whose M.Phil. dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme in the University of Lucknow.

Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to MPhil Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution shall be eligible for admission to PhD programme.

Total Vacant PhD Seats: University of Lucknow has informed that the total number of PhD Seats for Full Time are 442. Meanwhile, for Part Time, the total number vacant PhD Seats are 89.

Selection Procedure:  As per the LU Ph.D. Ordinance 2018 the admission would be done on the basis of entrance test and interview.
