Greater Noida: Bennett University, a part of Times Group (media conglomerate in India), has invited applications from eligible candidates for PhD programmes for engineering, science and management subjects. The areas of research under PhD programmes available are given: Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biotechnology, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Management. The university will provide financial support to all full time PhD scholars, in the form of PhD Assistantship.
The submission of applications has commenced from 20 Jan 2017. The closing date for receipt of applications is 09 June 2017. The written test for PhD admission (BRAT – Bennett Research Aptitude Test) will be held on 23 June 2017 at the Bennett University campus. The interview is scheduled during 24-24 June 2017.
Eligibility Criteria:
Academic Qualification for Programs in Engineering and Sciences: 60% Marks in ME/MTech/MSc/MPhil or a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale in relevant subject
Or
B Tech degree with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 on a 10-point scale or 70% marks in relevant subject
Academic Qualification for Programs for Programs in Management: Management, being a multi-disciplinary field; graduates with 4 years of undergraduate education and 16 years (10+2+4 years) of total education with minimum 60% aggregate marks in graduation are eligible to apply.
(i) For graduates who had done three year undergraduate programs, Master’s degree along with minimum 60% marks in both undergraduate and post graduate degrees is mandatory.
(ii) Valid score in National level accredited competitive exams like GATE/CAT/GMAT/GRE or qualified in NET/ SLET/ UGC/ CSIR (JRF) or equivalent National level examinations or are in receipt of fellowships like DST/ DBT/ DAE/ CSIR/ QIP/ ICMR/ DRDO/ INSPIRE, etc.
Selection Process:
For Engineering and Applied Sciences
The shortlisting of applications for the purpose of admission test/interview will be done by the admission committee. The applicants who fulfil the eligibility criteria and are shortlisted shall be put through:
(i) Bennett Research Aptitude Test (BRAT) – a written test conducted by the University
(II) The process of Interview by a nominated committee of the School.
For Management Programs
(a) The eligible applicants (as per criteria defined above) will be shortlisted based on their performance in one of the competitive examination, namely GMAT, CAT, GATE, GRE ,UGC/CSIR NET examination, etc.
(b)The shortlisted applicants shall be put through BRAT (Bennett Research Aptitude Test)-a written test, which shall be conducted by the University.
(c) Applicants will be shortlisted based on their performance in BRAT for interview.

PhD Assistantship: The university has informed that financial support will be provided to all full time PhD scholars in the form of PhD Assistantship of INR 20,000/-PM (under revision). Hostel accommodation with free boarding, lodging and laundry facility shall be provided to all full time scholars, subject to terms and conditions as per University rules.
