New Delhi: In a bid to address last minute rush, the last date for submission of online application for GATE 2017 has been extended up to 11.00 AM of 10 October 2016 (Monday). Earlier, today (04 October 2016) was the final day for submission of online application via GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is the Organizing Institute for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2017 (GATE 2017).
The extension of last date will address the problems of the last minute rush among candidates for filing online applications and will give enough time to candidates for filing the applications. GATE 2017 Online Examination will be held on February 4 – 5, 2017 & February 11 – 12, 2017 (Saturdays and Sundays only).
GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website has opened for enrollment, application filling, application submission from September 1, 2016 (Thursday). Admissions to postgraduate programs (Master’s and Ph.D.) with MHRD and other Government Scholarships/Assistantships in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science are open to those who qualify in GATE. The GATE score is also used by some organizations, especially Central Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and state PSUS for their recruitment (young engineers).
For the first time in the history of GATE, GATE 2017 examination shall be held for international candidates in Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates (U.A.E). The XE paper now has a new section on Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (section H). With this the number of sections in the XE paper has increased to eight (A-H).
As per the official notification, announcement of results on the online application website is scheduled on 27 March 2017 (Monday).
