Mumbai: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay presents 20th edition of Techfest, Asia’s Largest Science & Technology Festival, during 16-18 December 2016 at its Mumbai campus. The mega student festival has lined up various science and technology based thematic initiatives, challenges, competitions, workshops, exhibitions and lectures. The Techfest’s international challenges provide students an international platform to show their skills and prove themselves: International Coding Challenge, International Robotics Challenge, Robowars, and Indian Student Supercomputing Challenge.
Techfest, IIT Bombay gives a chance to attend lectures by famous personalities like Peter Atkins and A.S. Kiran Kumar (ISRO). Further, participants will see and experience cutting edge technologies like controlled cyborgs, a robot from Star Wars.
Techfest, IIT Bombay has already successful completed zonal rounds of the International Robotics Challenge held in Egypt, Bangladesh, Syria, Sri Lanka, Denmark, Tunisia and Ethiopia. Final International round is to be held from 15 to 18 December 2016.
This 20th edition of Techfest, IIT Bombay brings the amazing set of workshops that will ignite one’s mind to rush into the world of imagination. Another major event of the fest is The LIGO Conclave – The discovery of gravitational waves. Does this discovery support the science of Interstellar ? Is gravity a dimension ? What’s really inside the black hole ? What is the Space-Time fabric ? How the laws of physics will change after this discovery ? These questions will be answered at the event.
Techfest International Exhibitions 2016-17 is another main attraction of the international tech festival. The cutting edge technology and research from across the globe will feature in the exhibition.
This is an international science and technology festival, where 165,000 people will attend and a students from 2500 colleges across India and over 500 overseas will participate. Born in 1998, Techfest, managed by students of IIT Bombay, has become Asia’s largest science and technology festival, which will be held on 16-18 December 2016.
