New Delhi:  The Indian Navy has invited applications from eligible unmarried male candidates for Permanent Commissioner Officer in Naval Armament Inspection (NAI) Cadre – Jun 2017. The course will commence from June 2017 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. The online submission of application commences today (19 November 2016). The last date for submission of online application is 09 December 2016 while the last date for submission of application (printout copy of Online Application with required documents) is 19 December 2016.

Eligibility Criteria: As per the recruitment advertisement issued by the Indian Navy, the age of the candidate should be  19 ½ – 25 years, born between 02 Jul 1992 and 01 Jan 1998. Both dates are inclusive.  Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have passed BE/ B.Tech degree or in the final year of Engineering Course in any one stream i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Instrumenta-tion, IT, Chemical Metallurgy and Aerospace Engineering with minimum 60% aggregate marks till V semester. Candidates must have minimum of 60% overall aggregate on completion of BE/B.Tech. The notification mentioned that candidates failing to meet minimum cut off percentage will not be permitted to join the course.

How to apply: The interested eligible candidates should submit the application via online mode. For submitting online application candidates should refer the official career portal of the Indian Navy: www.joinindiannavy.gov.in .  The Recruitment Advertisement mentioned that  The candidate will have to send one copy of this Application Form is to be duly signed and mailed (posted) to Post Box No. 02, Sarojini Nagar PO, New Delhi – 110 023 along with required documents mentioned on the Recruitment Advertisement.

Selection Procedure:  Based on the performance in educational qualification, candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews.  SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled from Dec 16 to Mar 17 at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore/Visakhapatnam. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidates in their application form).

Job Role: The Recruitment Advertisement informed that as a Naval Armament Inspection Officer, candidate will be responsible for inspection of the armament supplied to the Navy by various agencies. One will be responsible for in-house Reseach and Development, leading to indigenisation, and will have to ensure the quality, safety and reliability of Naval Armament and Stores produced by the Navy.

Pay Scale & Cost to Company (CTC): The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and thereafter on selection basis subject to fulfilment of requisite service condition. The Pay Scale and promotion criteria is as follows (being revised as per 7th CPC). The CTC for a sub Lieutenant would be approximately Rs. 87,600 to 90000/-. This includes Basic Pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, Flying Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport allowance. In addition to above benefits there are some privileges: Free Medical Facilities for Self & dependents, Canteen Facilities, Entitled Ration, Mess/Club/Sports Facilities, Furnished Govt. Accommodation, Car/Housing Loan at subsidised rate, etc.

Probation Period: The Officers will be on probation for a period of two years or till completion of their initial training (whichever is later), during which they are liable to be discharged if their performance is unsatisfactory on professional/medical/disciplinary grounds.

Training: The training is tentatively scheduled to commence in the month of Jun 2017 at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala. Full pay and allowances are admissible to the officers whilst under training.
