New Delhi: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched a special social media campaign #BeSkilledBeIndependent on the occasion of India’s 70th year of independence. On the theme of ‘skills enable independence’, Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (I/C) Mr Rajiv Pratap Rudy has shared an inspiring video message.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched this social media campaign to popularise the Skill India campaign and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). The campaign highlights how some youths enrolled via PMKVY have scripted their own story.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). The Union Cabinet has approved the scheme for another four years (2016-2020) to benefit 10 million youth with allocated budget of Rs 12,000 Crores.
