Mumbai:  MISB Bocconi, the only offshore presence of Università Bocconi in India, has recently launched women in leadership scholarship program for deserving candidates. Aimed to encourage meritorious women leaders to pursue their dreams, the scholarship is available to deserving women candidates applying to the institute’s prestigious PGPB program.

Università Bocconi  is one of Europe’s premier universities. Founded in 2012, MISB Bocconi offers a postgraduate program in Business and Executive Education programs, designed and taught by the faculty of SDA Bocconi, Milan, Italy.

Despite an increasingly positive corporate environment for women, India Inc. has a dearth of senior women leaders. Many women end up pursuing an MBA for all the wrong reasons. This lacuna can only be filled by offering leadership training opportunities to women at the right time. Business schools are rightly primed to make a difference and give an opportunity to future talent. MISB Bocconi’s new scholarship program will help women leaders take advantage of the world class global education offered by the institute and have unfettered access to the Bocconi alumni network.

Speaking about the initiative, Managing Director of MISB Bocconi, Mr. Alessandro Giuliani says, “I understand the impact such a scholarship can have for deserving candidates. Today, a lot of women leaders in India have made a mark for themselves. However, there is a lot more to be done to develop the next generation of women leaders. The women workforce is still facing gender disparity in terms of opportunities available to them. This scholarship aims to minimize the gender gap by providing a wonderful platform for women leaders.”

The scholarship is available to deserving women who meet the rigorous MISB Bocconi selection criteria and exhibit exemplary leadership skills through stellar work in academia, team leadership, community leadership and/or creative leadership.
