Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest exporter in IT services, has added 22,665 gross employees in Q2 2016 while total employee count reached to 371, 519. The company has added net employees of 9,440 associates. The most surprising trend in human resources was that LTM attrition was down further QoQ to 11.9% in IT Services, 12.9%, including BPS.
In TCS women employees represent 34.3% of total workforce as on 30 September 2016. TCS is heavily investing on digital transformation and disruption technology N Chandrasekaran, CEO and MD, TCS, said, “We continue our strong tradition of investing in building IP and solutions as well as talent for the future. Over 180,000 TCSers are now trained with significant expertise in new Digital technologies.” Chandrasekaran also commented “We continue to enjoy momentum on IoT, cloud and related technologies.”
Out of the gross additions of employees for the quarter July-Sept 2016, 11, 884 were trainees while 7, 486 were recruited for lateral positions. Total number of 9,440 overseas employees were recruited in Q2 FY17.
For the current financial year (April-September 2016), total number of 40,457 employees were added including 16,922 trainees and 17,363 for lateral posting. There were net additions of 17,676 employees during Q2 FY17.
