By Avani Bhatnagar, New Delhi:  Learning and Development Global’s Delhi chapter monthly meet on 15 October 2016 saw two brainstorming sessions: Brain Rewiring Patterns and Collaborative Environment. Mr Sudip Mukherjee, an NLP coach and expert, conducted the session on power of brain and memory while Mr. Subhankar Ghose, HR head of ABP News, highlighted  the benefits of “Collaboration” and how to invest in a truly “Collaborative environment” .

Mr Sudip Mukherjee, an NLP coach and expert, demystifies the Brain Rewiring Patterns i.e. how does our brain take in information and how does it process it and use it for various purposes. He related that how participants in any given training take in information and use it. This will ensure that learners take 100% and lead to that ROI we all are keen on. Mr Sudip Mukherjee said  that the two types of memory that we use – Short Term memory and Long term memory help us retain information in chunks.

Also, the L & D professionals understood through this session that how long and what amount of information can be used. For example, the brain can take in 7 +/- 2 bits of information at a given time. This was illustrated by a long list of items written on the board and a very simple trick to remember it. Well, the trick is simple but a great NLP technique and one of the best how-to techniques.

Mr. Subhankar Ghose, HR head of ABP News helped L&D members in truly understanding “Collaboration” and how to invest in a truly “Collaborative environment”. Mr  Ghose commented that instead of focusing on how to ensure that collaboration happens through mutual trust and helping each other, the leaders of today are more worried about that their position should not be taken away.  Leaders hesitate giving an opportunity to a junior to take a lead or taking risk because what is missing is the true spirit of Collaboration. Collaboration implies coming together with our resources and ensuring mutually beneficial exchange.

Many L & D Practitioners attended the chapter meeting and enjoyed the learning lesions.
