Mumbai:  The top three rank holders on all India basis of Chartered Accountants Final Examinations held in November, 2016 are from Lucknow, Bhiwandi (Maharashtra) and Ahmedabad.  Eti Agarwal from Lucknow topped the Chartered Accountants Final Examinations. Ms Agarwal scored 599 marks out of 800, which is 74.88%.

Piyush Ramesh Lohia,  Bhiwandi, grabbed the second position at the all India Chartered Accountants Final Examinations with 71.75% marks (574 out of 800).  Jyoti Mukeshbhai  Maheshwari, Ahmedabad, stood third at the exam with 70.75% marks (566 out of 800). Chartered Accountants Final Examinations results were declared on 17 January 2017.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)  informed in  a press statement that the pass percentage of Group I stage is 7.14% while that of Group II is 12.32%. Pass percentage in any one of the groups or both groups is 11.57%. A total number of 37,200 candidates appeared the November 2016 exam for  Group I while 2,655 emerged successful. A total of 36896 candidates appeared the appeared the November 2016 exam for  Group II while 4,545 candidates cleared Group II.

Meanwhile a total of 36,768 candidates appeared exam in any of the group or both groups. Out of these, 4,256 candidates successfully passed  the exam.

M. Devaraja Reddy, President, ICAI added “Chartered Accountancy is a highly sought after professional course. Making the CA professionals as future managers with core competencies is our primary aim. We have high hopes from the students as we consider them to be highly committed, focused and hard working individuals who imbibe the virtues of independence, integrity and excellence.”

The ICAI conducts Chartered Accountancy Examination twice a year since 1949.

In the common proficiency test (CPT) held in December 2016, a total number of 70,321 candidates appeared the test.  A total of 32,658 candidates passed the test while pass percentage was 46.44%.

The pass percentage for male and female candidates in the CPT December 2016 exam stood at 45.81% and 47.37%, respectively.
