London, 27th April 2017: India’s Amity Directorate of Distance and Online Education, a part of Amity Group, features among the world’s top 40 programs in providing online MBA education. This institute has become the only institute from India to be featured among this prestigious club. QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a leading provider of World University Rankings, have today released the fifth edition of their annual QS Distance Online MBA Rankings.
Further, Amity University’s Directorate of Distance and Online Education has emerged as Asia’s top ranked distance MBA program is (39th). Spain’s IE Business School’s Global MBA program named the world’s best, taking the number-one position from Warwick Business School’s offering.
The results reflect that high-quality distance MBA provision is still a market dominated by providers from the US-UK duopoly. IE is the only provider from the top 10 that operates outside these two nations.
There are two new entrants into the top 10: the Thunderbird School of Global Management (6th) and the Fox School of Business at Temple University (8th). More surprisingly, 55% of the 40 programs are offered by US-based schools, with the UK home to a further 20% of these courses. Australia’s Deakin University (16th) and La Trobe University (31st) make Australia the only other country to host more than two ranked programs.
Peru’s CENTRUM Católica Graduate Business School: International Managerial MBA (23rd) is Latin America’s best and only online MBA program in this ranking. Average tuition across the 40 programs was US$39,106, with the US average almost $10,000 higher ($48,784).
Nunzio Quacquarelli, CEO at QS Quacquarelli Symonds, observes: “QS distance online MBA ranking is unique in evaluating opportunities for interaction with class-mates and professors as well as looking at the reputation with employers. The technology behind online learning continues to advance improving the learner experience. But data on completion rates and employer feedback reinforces the view that the blended model including some physical meet ups is most effective.”
