Sonipat, India, 4th May 2018: The Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) has reached a new milestone reflected in its current recruitment details of its 2018 graduating batch, while the recruitment process for the batch is still continuing.

All major law firms including Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB Partners, Nishith Desai Associates, Economic Law Practice, Trilegal, Khaitan & Co., J. Sagar Associates, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, Karanjawala & Co., and many other Indian firms have recruited JGLS graduates this year. The English law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has also offered a training contract to one of the graduating students of the batch.

Over 16 new corporate recruiters have been added to JGLS’ recruiter list this year so far which include Aquilaw, ARA Law, Bharucha Partners, Godha Law Chambers, Jurisperitus Law, Law Rato, Lawyers at Work, Mundkur Law Partners, Prasoon Legal, Samvad Partners, Singh & Singh Associates, Star India, Tatva Legal, Thomson Reuters, among others. Organizations including Volkswagen, I-PAC, & Ruia Group, are currently conducting their recruitment process for the graduating batch while several others are currently in the pipeline.

JGU Founding Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of Jindal Global Law School, Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, said, “We expect several other domestic and international law firms to hire from our future graduating batches as several law firms have signed MoUs with our university for offering internships to our students. JGLS prides itself for facilitating a diversified range of professional opportunities to its graduates. These opportunities are not limited to corporate law firms, but also include in-house counsel positions at corporations and business enterprises, consultancy firms, investment banks, think tanks, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, intergovernmental organizations, government agencies, litigation practices at lawyers’ chambers and judicial clerkships with judges of the High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. Internships have become the most preferred route for hiring law students by Indian and international law firms, and we will continue to focus on expanding this network.”

Further, the 2019 graduating batch of JGLS has received 23 Zero Day offers, the highest number of zero day offers received this year by any law school in India. In addition to the Zero Day offers, 4 PPOs and 2 Assessment Internships have also been received so far by the 2019 graduating batch.

Assistant Dean of Careers Office at JGLS Prof. Anuranjan Sethi said, “We are focused on deepening & widening our recruiter base across various segments of legal industry to shape students’ imaginations and catering to their constantly evolving career aspirations of our students.”

JGLS Graduates Admitted to Study at Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford and Other Global Universities

Several graduating students have secured admissions into LL.M. programmes in leading law schools around the world including, Faculty of Law, Cambridge University, London School of Economics, University College London, University of Leeds, Queen Mary University, Indiana University, Tufts University (Geneva), Oxford University, Maastricht University (Netherlands), and Kings College, London. It is notable that one of the graduates of JGLS has received admission to the Stanford Law School and was awarded a fellowship to study at the Stanford Programme in International Legal Studies. Another graduate of JGLS has been awarded the prestigious Columbia Law School Human Rights Fellowship and will be pursuing their LLM programme.
