National – As tourism rebounds and the hotel business recovers, Swiss Education Group, Switzerland’s largest group of private hospitality, business, and culinary education, and Club Med Switzerland, the world’s leading provider of high-end all-inclusive vacations, are joining their international forces in a partnership that will equip the resort and wellness professionals of tomorrow.
Club Med is returning to its roots, renewing its ties with the historic Leysin campus which is now home to Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS). From 1956 to 2002, the iconic Belvedere and Mont Blanc Palace were the first Club Med snow villages in Switzerland before becoming hotel schools.
The partnership includes an extensive talent development program and offers Swiss Education Group schools’ students’ formative internships and an accelerated career path within Club Med’s global resorts. Students in the SHMS Masters of International Business in Hotel, Resort & Wellness Management program will benefit from Club Med Switzerland’s expertise in the management of resort hotels of tomorrow.
In exchange, Club Med Switzerland will benefit from the students’ creativity in developing dedicated projects initiated by the group with the school’s teachers. In particular, the two entities are considering how to involve students in organizing events in the villages, starting with the St. Moritz resort, which could also serve as a place for exchange and reflection during their year of study. Finally, Club Med Switzerland would benefit from privileged access to the International Recruitment Forum, the biggest career event for recruiting young talent.
“Our talent development program with Club Med provides our students with coveted internship and career opportunities with one of the largest players in the hospitality industry,” said Yong Shen, CEO of Swiss Education Group. “In addition to providing students with access to guest lectures with the highest level of expertise, this partnership demonstrates recognition of the value and quality of our programs in the eyes of leading employers in the industry.”
“We are very pleased with this collaboration, which enhances the quality of our business by reinforcing the educational dimension, a notion that has always been central to our development,” said Fabio Calo, Director of Club Med Switzerland. “I believe in the capacity of students to surprise us with their creativity and their sense of reflection, and it is important to me that Club Med can accompany them in the future of our industry.
