New Delhi, 13 March 2024: In India, there are more than 125 Institutes of National Importance (INIs). These include IITs, NITs, IISERs, IIITDMs, and other CFTIs.
These premier research and education institutes admit PhD scholars in two sessions. Now Admission for Semester I of 2024-25 session has commenced.
As on 13 March 2024, there are Eight INIs have announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2024-25. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships.

AcSIR Common PhD Entrance Test August 2024 for 82 CSIR Research Labs is Open
New Delhi, 10 March 2024: Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) New Delhi, an Institute of National Importance, has opened applications portal for admission to PhD in Science and Engineering Programs for the August 2024 Batch. The research streams are disciplines of Science and Engineering – an exciting opportunity to pursue doctoral research in world renowned CSIR Laboratories – the Nation-wide Network of AcSIR Centers.
AcSIR is common PhD Entrance test for 82 CSIR Laboratories coming under AcSIR. There is no application fee for PhD Test.

South Asian University Opens Admission for AY 2024-25: 75 Seats for PhD Programmes
New Delhi, 11 March 2023: South Asian University (SAU), an international university established by the eight member nations of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC), has opened the application portal for Admissions 2024-25.
From this year, the university announces admissions to new programmes in the Department of Computer Science, namely, B.Tech., Dual Degree (B.Tech.+M.Tech.), M.Tech. and Integrated (M.Sc.+M.Tech.).

Chennai, 03 March 2024: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, an Institute of National Importance, has opened application window for PhD/Direct PhD/MS (by Research) Admission for July 2024 Semester. Scholars admitted to PhD and MS programmes under Regular scheme are eligible for the following Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA).
Total Vacant Seats: The total number of vacant PhD seats with HTRA are 319 while MSC (by Research) seats are 161 for July 2024 session.
