As on 22 September 2024, there are three IITs have announced PhD Admission for Semester II 2024-25. Also Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore have announced PhD Admisison for January 2025 session. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships.

IIT Madras Opens PhD Admission Sem II 2024-25 ! 470 Seats with Institute Fellowships
Chennai, 21 September 2024: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, an Institute of National Importance, has opened application window for PhD/Direct PhD/MS (by Research) Admission for January 2024 Semester. Scholars admitted to PhD and MS programmes under Regular scheme are eligible for the following Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA).
Total Vacant Seats: The total number of vacant PhD seats with HTRA are 470 while MSC (by Research) seats are 243 for the Academic Years 2024-25.

IIT Bombay Opens PhD Admission Spring Sem 2024-25 ! 243 Seats with Teaching Assistantship
Mumbai, 18 September 2024: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced PhD Admission for Spring Semester 2024-25. The online application portal has opened from 10 September 2024. The PhD classes will commence in January 2025.
Total Seats: The total number of vacant seats are 243 with Teaching Assistantship.
