Chennai: VIT University or VIT, formerly called Vellore Engineering College based in Vellore, has invited online application for PhD programmes for the session July 2017. The PhD Admissions are available at the following campuses of VIT: Chennai, Vellore, Amaravati (AP).
The PhD programmes are offered in the following departments/schools of VIT: School of Advanced Sciences, School of Bio Sciences and Technology, School of Civil and Chemical Engineering, School of Computing Science & Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Electronics Engineering, School of Information Technology & Engg, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Social Sciences & Languages, VIT Business School and VIT Law School. Further, in the Vellore campus, the following centres offer PhD degree courses: Centre for Biomaterials, Cellular and Molecular Theranostics ,Centre for Bio separation Technology, Centre for CO2 and Green Technologies, Center for Crystal Growth, Centre for Disaster Mitigation and Management, Centre for Nano Biotechnology, Centre for Nanotechnology Research, and Centre for TIFAC-CORE in Automotive Infotronics.
Eligibility Conditions:
For PhD in Engineering subjects: Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Business Administration with a first class or a minimum 60% marks (CGPA 6.5 on a 10 – point scale) or equivalent like M.Sc (Engineering) / M.S. by Research.
For PhD in Sciences / Humanities / Languages: Master’s degree with a minimum 60% in Sciences / Master’s degree with a minimum 55% in Humanities / Social Sciences / Languages.

The Issue of application form has commenced form 10-March-2017. The last date for online application submission is 19-May-2017.
