Two PhD scholars from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai win AXISMOVES 2017: Future of Jobs in India

Mumbai: Two PhD (Tech) students of Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai won The Axismoves 2017 competition. Ms Vaishali Mukund Kulkarni and Mr Arjun singh Bajwa, PhD (Tech) students in Bioprocess Technology of ICT Mumbai, working with Prof Anand V Patwardhan have won the first prize including cash prize of Rs. 25 lakhs and a trophy at the AxisMoves 2017 competition.

The Axismoves 2017 competition with the theme of “Future of Jobs in India” was sponsored and organized by Axis bank. The event promoted innovative solution and ideas about job creation. The event was the largest crowd sourcing initiative in India and included 21,800 participants (10,900 ideas) from more than 300 campuses in India. After multiple rounds of jury selection, the top 50 finalists were called to New Delhi (Hyatt Regency) for finale round on 8 April 2017.

After initial jury selection round for top 50 ideas, the top 5 finalists were decided for the grand finale round which was adjudicated by Mr. Amitabh Kant (CEO, NITI AYOG), Mr. Rajan Anandan (Vice President Google, for South East Asia and India), Dr. Sanjiv Mishra (Chairman, Axis Bank), Mrs. Shikha Sharma (CEO Axis bank) and Mr. Gautam Kumra (Managing Director of McKinsey India).
