New Delhi:  Apple Inc’s CEO Tim Cook met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared Apple’s future plan in India on Saturday (21st May 2016). Cook spoke of the possibilities of manufacturing and retailing in India. He acclaims the deepening young talent in India, and said Apple is riding on Indian youth’s skills.  He mentioned the India has great potential for ‘app-development’.  Mr Cook also appraised the Prime Minister of the Map Development Centre that Apple Inc. is setting up in Hyderabad while praising the Prime Minister’s initiatives in ‘ease of doing business.’

Both also discussed on various initiatives and interests in the renewable energy.  The Prime Minister explained Digital India initiatives, and identified three key objectives of Digital India as e-education, health and increasing farmers’ incomes.  Mr Modi  said Apple  has to play great role in furthering these objectives.

Issues regarding cyber-security and data encryption  were also discussed. The Prime Minister mentioned Mr. Cook to help the global community to cope with the challenges of cyber-crime.

Mr. Tim Cook also launched an updated version of the ‘Narendra Modi Mobile App.
