New Delhi/Hyderabad, 28th May 2019: Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management, concluded the 5th edition of ‘SHRM India HR Technology APAC Conference & Exposition’, the most powerful confluence of people, business and technology, recently in Hyderabad.The two day conference and exposition brought together 1500+ delegates, including mid & senior level HR professionals and corporate leaders from organizations across all sectors. The gathering presented an opportunity for delegates to discuss the ever increasing role of technology in HR and the use of innovative ways to bridge the gap between HR and technology, as well as how to leverage the best of technology as an effective enabler in HR.
Day two of the conference began with an engaging keynote session “looking backward from the future” by Dr. Shawn G Dubravac, Founder and President of Avrio Institute. In his keynote, he discussed how, in an era of technology intervention at the workplace, HR executives need to be well prepared for the future.
Successful Women in Technology, Staying Human with Technology, Workplace Technology: Increasing Productivity or Increasing Stress were some of the other exciting sessions at the conference. Throughout the day, speakers extensively discussed the topics based on Employee Experience, Talent Management, Talent Development and HR Technology in multiple vibrant concurrent sessions.
In a special talk “staying human with technology” Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Spiritual Leader & Founder, Art of Living, threw light on how while technology has made the world shrink, it is humanness and spirituality that can make it into a family. He spoke about how lack of attention is creeping in our society and the way to bring it back is through mindfulness and meditation. He stressed on the benefits of being mentally present for better health, attention spans and a better society overall.
There were many important launches on the last day of the event. This included Deloitte’s Human Capital Trend Report, which has established itself as the cornerstone of workforce insights over the years. Now in its 9th edition, the report shared critical trends shaping the ecosystem of workforce, workplace, and work itself. Another significant launch at the conference was SHRM and Sierra Cedar’s survey launch on HR Tech Landscape in India. Also the SHRM & SAP SuccessFactors HR Technology Toolkit was launched at the event which is an absolute guide to answer all your questions on HR technology transforamtion.
Apart from these, SHRM announced the winners of ‘SHRM Hackathon’. Team Flying Daggers with team members Danthala Maneesh Kumar, Devaraju Raja Sai and Boinapatti Vishal were awarded with INR 1,50,000 for their innovative solutions.
