New Delhi, 07 November 2020: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, an Institute of National Importance, has launched eVIDYA@IITD – Enabling Virtual & Interactive-learning for Driving Youth Advancement. Under this initiative, online certificate programmes will be offered by IIT Delhi in different domains of Engineering, Technology, Science, Humanities and Management for the Indian as well as international participants.
IIT Delhi is the first leading national institute in India to develop and roll out the policy framework for large scale deployment of Online Certificate programmes, in collaboration with service providers in the educational space on virtual platforms.
eVIDYA@IITD will launch the programmes in various areas of national importance like Cyber Physical System/ Security, Renewable Energy Storage & Conversion, Embedded Systems, Machine Learning, Construction Project Management, Anaerobic Digestion and Compressed Biogas Technology, Microfluidics, Electric Vehicle, Massive Machine type communications for 5G and 6G, Technologies for Beyond 5G and 6G Communications and many more.
On the occasion of the 51ts Convocation of IIT Delhi celebrated today (07 November 2020), the Union Education Minister, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launched this initiative.
The Senate of IIT Delhi had approved the Online CEP Policy after incorporating the feedback from Department/Centers/Schools and recommended the same to the Board of Governors (BOG) for final approval. The BOG approved the policy as recommended by the Senate.
The initiative will have significant impact as it will open opportunities for the youth to gain knowledge in cutting edge areas for their career advancement.
