New Delhi: Miranda House, New Delhi has emerged as the Best College in India as per  National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2017 report, released today by Ministry of HRD.  Loyola College Chennai bags second rank while Shri Ram College of Commerce, New  Delhi stands third in the India Ranking report 2017.

Top college ranking is introduced for the first by NIRF, popularly known as India Ranking Report. The list has been only prepared based on the colleges which had applied for the process. Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirapalli bags fourth spot while Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, New Delhi features at fifth place.

 St. Xavier`s College, Kolkata stands at the sixth place. The top ten colleges in India are as followed:  Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi (7), Dyal Singh College, New Delhi (8), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, New Delhi (9), and The Women’s Christian College, Chennai (10).

Out of top 20 colleges in India, eight are located in Delhi/New Delhi city. Three Colleges form each Chennai and Coimbatore are among top twenty list. Two colleges from Kolkata feature in the top twenty colleges list in India.
