Mumbai: Indian Institute Management (IIM) Calcutta has launched its Executive Programme in Business and Corporate Laws (EPBCL), a 6 months online 2 way interactive video-based programme, to be delivered under technical collaboration with VCNow. EPBCL is designed and delivered by Programme Directors Prof V K Unni and Prof R Rajesh Babu of IIM Calcutta.
EPBCL is targeted at existing legal professionals, corporate secretarial professionals as well as business managers and management consultants in corporate planning, strategy and risk management compliance functions.
EPBCL explores the restraining and strategic aspects of law and its potential as a value-added tool in business strategy for organizations. The programme shall attempt to integrate participants’ understanding of law in business organizations and intends to provide a comprehensive understanding on the legal environment in which the business operates. Having a reasonable understanding of the regulatory framework will help managers manage risks and design strategies for competitive advantage.
EPBCL will provide participants a comprehensive understanding on the legal environment in which the business, both national and international, operates. The programme shall address the different facets of business and its operation including but not limited to setting-up of business operations, raising capital – public offers, private placement, liability, transactions in the field of JV, M&A, external commercial borrowings, private equity / venture capital investments, capital and forex market regulations, strategic management of IPRs, etc.
Working executives with min 50% in Graduation (10+2+3 format) and possessing minimum 2 years of work experience can apply. The programme can be either pursued through direct-to-device (online mode) or through Video Conference based Virtual Classroom enabled by Program Partner VCNow. in at over 40 locations in 27 Indian cities. The program pedagogy will be a balance mix of lectures, case studies, live corporate example and general discussions.
Participants have to undergo a 4-day campus module at the end of the programme. All successful participants will be awarded a certificate of successful completion from IIM Calcutta and will also be bestowed with IIM Calcutta MDP alumni status.
