Established in 2018, the SPP is the first academic unit on public policy of its kind in the country. It works at the intersection of Science, Technology, Innovation (STI), and Development, with the goal of advancing cutting-edge research, fostering the next generation of policy professionals, and contributing to significant policy impact.
The MPP is a two-year full-time program focused on training students to catalyze a robust and socially relevant STI policy ecosystem at national and international levels. Students are equipped to be competent policy professionals, while also engaging with civil society and industry to complement their impact. Besides, students also work on a dissertation, aligned with the research verticals of the school. The SPP recently admitted its third batch of MPP, whereas the second batch will finish the program May 2024.
Talking about the MPP program, Prof. Sanjiva Prasad, Head, School of Public Policy, said, “The School of Public Policy at IIT Delhi applauds its first MPP batch for their exceptional achievements and congratulates them on their diverse placements that perfectly reflect the School’s ethos, which encourages students to think differently and pursue non-conventional paths. The success of this inaugural batch reinforces the School’s commitment to transforming students into top-quality policy professionals and scholars”.
