India : Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon, one of India’s leading management institutions, is pleased to announce the extension of the admission deadline for its prestigious Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) – Public Policy and Management (PPM) program. The new deadline for applications is now August 30, 2024.
This extension provides prospective students with an additional opportunity to apply for the highly sought-after PGDM – PPM program, which is designed to equip future leaders with a comprehensive understanding of public policy and management, including skills in strategic planning, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement. The PGDM-PPM programme at MDI Gurgaon spans eighteen months, with fifteen months of intensive coursework at MDI followed by three months dedicated to a Policy Paper, which participants complete at their respective workplaces.
The programme shines with a distinguished alumni network of 250 senior officers from 22 Ministries, State Governments, and 12 Services. Participants become part of a Community of Practice Interphase, interacting with policy and development experts and alumni and participating in theme-based workshops and roundtables. The programme has a unique one-week village immersion, which provides a real-life laboratory for engaging with society and policy.
The PGDM-PPM programme at MDI Gurgaon stands out due to its multidisciplinary in-house faculty, state-of-the-art library, and continuous learning environment. The 15-month campus stay is designed to build behavioral competencies and cognitive skills, emphasizing citizen-centric governance. The programme offers a well-rounded understanding through a combination of theory and practice across fields, including public policy, governance, law, project management, public finance, infrastructure, sustainable development, economics, leadership and human resources management. Courses are taught by experts with decades of international and national experience in government, industry, and academia, equipping participants with policy formulation, implementation, analysis, evaluation, and assessment skills.
Curated for middle and senior-level government officers of All India Services, Central Services, State Civil Services, Non-State Civil Services, and Faculty members of State Administrative Training Institute sponsored by the DoPT and State Cadres. and the program is also open to Self-sponsored participants with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Central and State Government organizations and departments at Middle or Senior Management levels/Consultant firms/Multilateral Agencies/NGOs/CSOs/Public Policy Professionals and Aspirants.
The full-time 18-month program includes a comprehensive curriculum featuring coursework, rural immersion, and a dissertation/policy paper. 39 courses spread over 8 terms, each approximately 7-8 weeks long, totaling 106.5 credits, are completed in the first 15 months. Following the coursework, participants engage in a rural immersion experience to apply their learning in real-world settings. Participants complete their dissertation or policy paper undertaken by them at their workplace in the final 3 months, showcasing their theoretical knowledge in a practical context.
MDI Gurgaon follows a rigorous continuous evaluation system where participants earn letter grades in each course, contributing to a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). To recognize outstanding academic performance, the institute awards the Director’s Gold Medal to the participant with the highest CGPA and the School of Public Policy and Governance Gold Medal to the participant with the second-highest CGPA each year. This continual assessment and recognition system ensures that participants are consistently motivated to excel in their academic pursuits.
Eligibility Criteria for DOPT Sponsored Applicants:
Officers of All India Services, Central Services (organized & unorganized, technical & non-technical), faculty members of State Administrative Training Institutes and also officers of the State Civil Services (SCS)/Non-State Civil Services (Non-SCS), who meet the following conditions:

Length of Service: Officers should have completed 5 years of Group ‘A’ service as on commencement of the programme.

Age: The officers should have at least five years remaining service after completion of the programme.

Earlier Training: The officers should not have undergone a training Programme of 12-weeks or more duration in India during a period of 5 years preceding the date of commencement of this Programme. Further, the officer should not have undergone a Programme of training abroad of more than 2-weeks in preceding 2-years, more than one month in preceding 3-years or more than six months in the preceding 5-years.

Eligibility Criteria for Self-Sponsored Applicants:

Must have 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both class X and XII

Must have a minimum 3-year Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a university recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India

Must have a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification executive work experience as of 30 April 2024.

Applicants must have a valid score in one of the following All India Tests: GMAT, CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, or CMAT, valid up to June 30, 2024, to be eligible for admission to PGDM-PPM 2024
