New Delhi, 29 September 2020: COVID 19 pandemic has prompted the University of Grants Commission to revise the Academic Year Calendar 2020-21. The New Academic Year will commence from 01 November 2020 to 30 August 2021 for 1st year Under Graduate and Post Graduate students.
The UGC has asked all the universities may follow a 6-day week pattern for the academic session 2020-21 and 2021-2022 to compensate the loss for this batch of students.
The Revised Calendar mentioned that the universities will have to compensate the delay in the start of academic session in the subsequent years by curtailing the breaks/ vacations so that this batch of students would get their final results for award of degree timely.
The Guidelines highlights the modes of teaching will be based on Physical, Online and Blending Mode depending on COVID 19 pandemic situations. The conduct of examinations, importance of physical & social distancing etc. shall remain unchanged and shall remain mandatory in that respect.
As per the New Academic Calendar 2020-21, the examination for First semester will be held during 08 -26 March 2021. Meanwhile, the examination for Second Semester will be held during 09 – 21 August 2021.
The Preparatory Break for Semester I will commence from 01 March 2021 to 07 March 2021. The Semester I Examinations will be conducted during 08 March 2021 to 26 March 2021. The Semester I Break will commence from 27 March 2021 and end on 04 April 2021.
The Preparatory Break for Semester II will commence from 01 August 2021 to 08 August 2021. The Semester II Examinations will be conducted during 09 August 2021 to 21 August 2021. The Semester II Break will commence from 22 August 2021 and end on 29 August 2021.
The commencement of Next Academic Session for this batch will be 30 August 2021.
