Bangalore: With a goal to help traditional project manager’s upskill and become future-ready, digital economy training provider Simplilearn has launched a first of its kind Master’s Program called ‘Digital Project Manager’. Through this comprehensive program, project managers can equip themselves with a three-layer skill set framework that includes core project management skills, using modern tools and techniques critical to managing projects, and skills necessary for holistic digital awareness.

According to the Project Management Institute (PMI), there will be a demand for over 700,000 project managers in the United States by 2020. India is the second-fastest growing country for project management, with a demand for 70 lakh project managers by 2027. Furthermore, PMI’s Pulse of the Professional 2018 survey states that over 50% of high performing companies feel digital transformation will have a major impact on work and over 30% of them believe developing digital-era project management skills is important. Simplilearn’s Digital Project Manager Master’s Program is a structured learning path for project managers to deepen skills in key project management areas and to build strong foundation in digital technologies that are essential for large projects today.

“With organizations worldwide undergoing digital transformation, the project manager’s role is changing and it is imperative for project managers to get future ready with awareness on digital trends and how they will re-shape future businesses,” said Kashyap Dalal, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer of Simplilearn. “Through our Digital Project Manager Masters Program, we are committed to help our students become Project Managers equipped with a very good understanding of digital transformation and be ready with skills needed to excel in their roles.”

The Masters Program is suited for professionals who are eager to manage projects involving digital technologies and for technology professionals who want to ace managerial skills while working on digital projects. The Program has a three-layer skill set framework, in which the first layer covers core areas in project management such as PMP, Six Sigma, and Agile-Scrum. The second layer covers the foundational understanding on digital transformation and its impact on businesses, and this will be followed by the third layer with focus on foundational courses in core digital domains like DevOps, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Marketing.

The Program is a blend of live virtual classes and on-demand videos that are delivered by industry experts. The course is supplemented with project mentoring, virtual labs for projects and dedicated teaching assistants to ensure the learners reach their goals in prescribed time. Upon successfully finishing the program, learners will receive a course completion certificate from Simplilearn.
