Sonipat: Ashoka University, Sonipat, a private university and pioneer in multidisciplinary liberal education, has announced PhD Admission for 2021. The monthly stipend to all PhD students selected as TAs funded by Ashoka University will be paid at Rs. 35,000/- per month.

Research Subjects: Chemical Sciences, Computer Science, and Sociology & Anthropology.

Key Dates:   The closing date for submission of online application is 04 December 2020 for Chemical Sciences and Computer Science.

The closing date for submission of online application is 28 February 2021 for Sociology & Anthropology.

Financial Support & Funding: The monthly stipend paid to all PhD students selected as TAs funded by Ashoka University will be Rs. 35,000/- per month. The PhD Scholars are eligible for Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) upon completing their candidacy. The monthly stipend for an SRF is Rs 40,000/- per month. A contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- per annum will be made available to each Ph.D. student.

Students funded externally through fellowships from UGC/CSIR/DST-INSPIRE, University waives the semester fees for those students (Rs. 12500/-).

Eligibility Conditions:

Chemistry: Prospective students from any basic/natural or applied sciences discipline including Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and/or Chemical Engineering with an MSc./ MPhil./ MTech./ MEngg./ BTech degree with minimum of 55 percentage or equivalent grade are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. program at Ashoka University.

Ashoka University offers financial assistance to all Ph.D. scholars for presenting their research ideas/findings in reputed international conferences. This facility can be availed once by each Ph.D. student during their studentship. Maximum amount of aid is Rs. 2,00,000/-.

Sociology and Anthropology: Candidates with a background in sociology or anthropology or related disciplines, including history and the humanities, and a thorough knowledge of at least one Indian language are encouraged to apply. The minimum requirement is a Master’s degree with an aggregate of at least 55 %.
