As on 12 March 2023, there are Five Central Universities have announced PhD for 2022-23 Academic Year. The total number of vacant PhD Seats are 2,057.

Tripura University Announces PhD Admission 2023 for 169 Seats ! Decoding Eligibility
Tripura (W), 12 Mar 2023: Tripura University, a Central University, has announced PhD Admission 2021. Admission to the PhD programs will be through Research Eligibility Test (RET-2022) under different departments in the Faculties of Science and Arts & Commerce.
Total PhD Seats: The total number of PhD Seats are 169 across 31 subjects.
Key Dates: The application portal has opened from 10 March (midnight) to 02 April 2023 (midnight).
Application Fees: The Application Fees will be as follows (for each programme) –
Requisite Fee for UR / EWS & OBC – Rs. 800.00 (Rupees eight hundred only).
Requisite Fee for SC/ST/PWD – Rs. 600.00 (Rupees six hundred only).
Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University Announces PhD Admission 2022-23 for 359 Seats
Srinagar (Garhwal), 08 March 2023: Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, a Central University in Uttarakhand, has announced PhD Entrance Test 2022-23.

Bilaspur, 24 February 2023: Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur, a Central University Chhattisgarh, invites online applications for admission to PhD Programmes – Vishwavidyalaya Research Entrance Test (VRET).
Vishwavidyalaya Research Entrance Test (VRET) will be conducted in 30 subjects for PhD programmes.
PhD Admission will take place under two categories: Vishwavidyalaya Research Entrance Test (VRET) and VRET Exempted Category.

Allahabad University Announces PhD Admission Test for 709 seats in 43 Subjects
Allahabad, 20 February 2023: University of Allahabad, a Central University in Uttar Pradesh, has announced Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) 2022 for admission to PhD Programmes. These PhD programmes are available in the university main Campus and its 10 Constituent Colleges.
Total Vacant PhD Seats: The total number PhD seats available are 909 across 43 subjects. The CRET 2022 will be conducted for 43 subjects with 709 seats out of which 316 seats are in University Departments/Centres and 393 seats in Constituent Colleges of the University of Allahabad.
