Currently, there are Seven IISERs: IISER Kolkata, Pune, Mohali, Bhopal, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, and Berhampur . These institute provide attractive fellowships to PhD students.

All selected candidates will be eligible for either Institute fellowship of Rs. 31,000/- per month or fellowship as per the norms of the funding agency,

IISER Pune Announces PhD Admission with Fellowships for August 2022
Pune, 19 April 2022: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, an Institute of National Importance, has released PhD Admission for August 2022 session.
In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, PhD interviews may be held online. Clear guidelines or any changes in procedure will be provided to candidates shortlisted for the interviews.
Fellowships: All selected candidates will be eligible to receive JRF fellowship as per the funding agency norms, in vogue.

Kolkata, 17 April 2022: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata, one of the IISER Group of Institutes under Ministry of Education, has invited applications from eligible candidates for PhD Programmes Autumn Semester 2022. All IISERs provides Fellowship Benefits to regular PhD scholars.
Doctoral Research Areas: Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Computational and Data Sciences, Earth Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences (Economics), Mathematics and Statistics, Center of Excellence in Space Sciences India (CESSI) and Physical Sciences.

Tirupati, 07 April 2022: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati invites applications from prospective candidates for admission to the PhD and Integrated PhD (I-PhD)programme, August 2022. In this round, the research areas are as followed: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Earth and Climate Sciences and associated interdisciplinary areas of research.
