As on 24 March 2024, there are Seven IITs have announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2024-25. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships.

IIT Hyderabad Announces PhD Admission for July 2024 with Institute Fellowships
Hyderabad, 22 March 2024:Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad, an Institution of National Importance, has released Admission Notification for PhD for Semester I 2024-25. Regular PhD Scholars will receive Institute Fellowships.
The financial assistance for the Ph.D. program under MoE (Ministry of Education) and all other funding categories except PMRF and External category across all departments is 5 years.

Chennai, 03 March 2024: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, an Institute of National Importance, has opened application window for PhD/Direct PhD/MS (by Research) Admission for July 2024 Semester. Scholars admitted to PhD and MS programmes under Regular scheme are eligible for the following Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA).
Total Vacant Seats: The total number of vacant PhD seats with HTRA are 319 while MSC (by Research) seats are 161 for July 2024 session.
