Mumbai, 05 February 2021: There are nearly 1,000 universities in India. For Admission to Doctoral Programmes, universities in India open application process twice a year (June or July session and December or January session).
Due to COVID 19 pandemic, the December 2020 PhD Admission session is being delayed. Now, most of the universities have already notified and closed application portal. Some universities have already announced PhD Admission for June 2021 semester or intake.

Mumbai, 04 February 2021: Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) invites applications from Engineering post-graduates (ME / MTech / Equivalent Degree) for admission to DAE Doctoral Fellowship Scheme (DDFS) formerly known as DGFS- PhD . Varanasi, 04 February 2021: Banaras Hindu University (BHU), a Central University, invites online applications for admission to the following programmes: PhD/ Vidyavaridhi/MPhil/Integrated MPhil-PhD programmes for the academic year 2020-21. BHU will conduct Research Entrance Test (RET) for 2020 on 19 March 2021 (Test A). The application portal has opened from 02 February 2021.

Candidates can download the Admit Card from the BHU Entrance Test Portal (www.bhuonline.in) around 12 March 2021 to 19 March 2021 providing the unique registration ID allotted to them at the time of online submission of application form.
IIT Bombay – Monash Research Academy Announces Joint PhD Admission June 2021 with Fellowships
Mumbai, 03 February 2021: IIT Bombay – Monash Research Academy (The Academy), an Australian-Indian research collaboration formed between IIT Bombay and Australia’s Monash University, has announced Joint PhD Program admission for June 2021 intake. Students will receive a dual-badged PhD degree from IIT Bombay and Monash University.
Research Areas: The Academy offers PhD programs in inter-disciplinary research in the fields in science, technology, computer science, IT, Engineering, humanities, design and mathematics.
Gandhinagar, 04 February 2021: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar, an Institute of National Importance, has Announced Admission for Start Early PhD for the academic year 2021-22. The institute invites applications from eligible BTech students for its Start Early PhD progarmme beginning in July 2021.

Aligarh Muslim University Announces PhD Admission 2020-21! Application Portal Opens on 27 Jan 2021
Aligarh, 25 January 2021: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), a Central University, has announced Admission to PhD Programmes 2020-21. The online application portal will be available from 27 January 2021.
AMU has released a short notice for PhD Admission 2020-21. The notification mentioned that AMU will release detailed notification very soon. Mission will be offered in various disciplines/specializations on the available vacancies as existing in the university on 31 July 2020 (after leaving one third of the total available seats).

New Delhi, 21 January 2021: UQ-IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR) has announced Admission to Joint PhD programmes for June-July 2021 session. Australia’s University of Queensland (UQ), a top 50 global university, and IIT Delhi, an Institution of Eminence, had come together and established the UQ-IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR) to run a joint PhD programme to support scholars across diverse discipline areas to deliver global impact.
In India, PhD Admission takes place in two sessions: June-July semester and December-January semester. Following PhD Admission Open in UQIDAR for July 2021 session, it appears that other universities will now commence their PhD Admission process soon.
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Announces PhD Admission for 95 Seats in its four Campuses
Mumbai, 28 January 2021: Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), a premier institute in social sciences and development studies, has invited applications for PhD programmes 2021. TISS is inviting application for its four campuses: Mumbai, Hyderabad, Tuljapur and Guwahati.
The total number of PhD Seats available for 2021 are 95. The last date for submission of online application form is 25 February 2021.
