The total PhD intake capacity is 140 for the current session with Institute’s fellowships. The vacant seats are available in 14 departments.

Puducherry, 14 June 2020: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Puducherry, an Institute of National Importance, has released PhD Admission Notification for July 2021 session. The PhD programmes are available 09 departments.
Regular full time scholars will get institute fellowship/JRF. The institute fellowship will be limited and shall be available on merit.

Rourkela, 19 June 2021: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, an Institute of National Importance, has released PhD Admission Notification for July 2021 session. The PhD programmes are available 20 departments.
Admission will be given preferably to the applicants who are eligible for Institute fellowship or have qualified for External fellowship. However, admission may also be considered without fellowship.

There are four types of PhD programmes available for admission.
Total PhD Seats: There are 17 departments offering PhD Programmes. The total number of PhD Seats with Institute Fellowships are 146 (Full Time-Stipendiary Category).
