Mumbai: School students can participate in Google India Code to Learn contest 2016. It is a contest to make computer programming fun and easy to learn for school students. The contest involves working with Scratch and App Inventor.
Scratch is a free tool that has been developed by the MIT Media Lab and it can be used to create Stories, Games and Animations. It is a stepping stone to the world of Computer Programming. Scratch website can be used to share your project with the world and to view the projects that other people have shared.
MIT App Inventor is a free tool which can be used to create Android Apps. It works right inside your web browser and you can create Apps very quickly because it is a blocks-based programming tool that does not require knowing any programming language.
Important Points of the contest:
- Parents or Legal Guardians of students in classes 5 to 10 can register for their children.
- Students create a project using Scratch or App Inventor – fun and cool tools created by MIT.
- Project submission will be open from 20th June, 2016 and the last day to submit projects is 31st July 2016.
- Parents or Legal guardians submit the project on this website.
