Mumbai: In India 74% of organization don’t have any particular strategy for engaging employees. Webinars, code contests, gamification are mainly used by companies as employee engagement tools. 35% of the employers who have a strategy for employee engagement employ gamification tool to woo employees, finds TimesJobs study. 87% of surveyed organisations find these new-age tools effective in engaging and attracting talent.
The TimesJobs study reveals that tech companies are the early adopters where 40% organisations find gamification tools useful in hiring/engaging technical staff. The survey mentioned that 55% will use it to engage talent and 45% plans to use it for hiring.
The use of gamification is not only restricted to tech companies where 60% of the non-IT employers find gamification effective in hiring marketing/sales business development professionals. Nearly, 85% per cent organisations in the BFSI and Manufacturing sector also showed interest in using coding contests for engagement and branding purpose.
This tool is most effective at middle level as 54% find it useful in hiring/engaging entry to middle level employees. The report reveals that nearly 38% find it effective for junior level employees while only 8% find it useful at senior level.
However, nearly 66% organisations are apprehensive but willing to try this new age engagement tool in future.
