Sonipat: The Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education (JILDEE) of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), a research intensive global institution in the NCR of Delhi, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID), one of the largest transmission utilities in the world.
The Memorandum of Understanding has been signed for a period of 5 years and will see both institutions exchange intellectual and infrastructure resources. The long-term collaboration will involve JILDEE designing and conducting custom management development programmes for senior officers of POWERGRID. The scope of cooperation also includes areas like consultancy, summer internship, joint research and conferences, case writing and international assignments.
Lt. Gen. Dr. Rajesh Kochhar (Retd) and Senior Director of JILDEE signed the MoU with Mr. Ravi P. Singh, Director Personnel, Power Grid Corporation of India at the POWERGRID corporate office in Gurgaon. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Anil Saberwal, GM- HRD, POWERGRID, Mr. K. N. Pandey, DGM-HRD, POWERGRID and Mr. Amit Mohapatra, Deputy Director of Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education, JGU.
JILDEE will draw upon the intellectual resources at JGU to conduct these programmes in the areas of leadership development, strategic management, innovation, creativity, competency mapping and other advanced management programmes. The curriculum will employ various pedagogical approaches such as lectures, simulations, small group interactions, action learning projects and case studies.
Speaking on the occasion, JGU, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) C Raj Kumar said, “We are privileged to have partnered with the Power Grid Corporation of India, a Navratna, Central Public Sector undertaking and India’s largest electric power transmission utility. It is indeed a proud moment for our institution.”
Speaking on the collaborative initiative with POWERGRID, Lt. Gen. Dr. Rajesh Kochhar (Retd), Senior Director of JILDEE noted, “In this world of constant change it is quite imperative that collaborative trainings are the need of the hour for rise of a new breed of leadership which will eventually take on this dynamic world. It’s our goal to constantly evolve modules and train employees with the right skills and this collaboration is just the beginning of an academic journey.”
As part of the collaborative agreement, POWERGRID will nominate senior and middle-level officers for both executive general management and short term certificate programmes at JGU. Faculty members for the modules will include faculty members of JGU, leading industry experts, government officials and other leading academicians from both India and abroad.
Both entities will also undertake joint research and conferences in areas of mutual interest and benefit, these activities will be undertaken with an objective of sharing best practices/advancements as well as learning from other leading global organizations in the industry.
