Mumbai, 16 July 2022: National Institute for Training in Industrial Engineering (NITIE), a graduate business school under Ministry of HRD, Government of India in Mumbai, is proposed to be included in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Act, 2017. NITIE, Mumbai will be renamed as IIM Mumbai.
IIM Mumbai will also enjoy institute of National Importance as alike other IIMs. The Union Government of India has prepared the Indian Institute of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and has listed the Centre the bill for the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
There are 20 IIMs in the list of IIMs in India. IIMs are controlled by the business schools for management profession offering undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and executive programmes along with some additional courses in the field of business administration.
