New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras remains at the top in Overall and Engineering category of India Rankings 2020 Report, released today by Ministry of HRD.
Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is crowned as the Best University while Miranda House has retained the Top College spot.
Among Business Schools, Indian Institute of Management climbs up to top spot while IIM Bangalore secures 2nd position.
Union HRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank today released NIRF 2020 reports. The Minister informed that more than 6,000 Universities, Colleges and Institutes have participated in the Ranking process.
In overall category, IIT Madras, IISc Bangalore and IIT Delhi have been placed at 1, 2 and 3rd place. In the Engineering colleges, IITs sweeps the top honors: IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, all these three retained their places.
In the University category, the top three are as followed: IISc Bangalore (1st), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) (2nd) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) (3rd). In the Management Category, IIM Ahmedabad climbs to top spot in 2020 while IIM Bangalore secures 2nd place. IIM Calcutta stands at third place.
There are many surprise developments in college category. Miranda House retains top honor. Lady Shri Ram College for Women improves its tally to 2nd place while Hindu College retains its third place. St. Stephen`s College stands at fourth place. Presidency College slips to fifth place from third place earlier.
