New Delhi: Entrepreneurs in the skill landscape and training and consulting business domain are expecting better business performance due to India’s demographic advantage. There are many women entrepreneurs in the skill and training domains are weaving success. Ms. Shruti Malik, Founder, Iris Learnings is one of them.

Ms Malik started Iris Learnings with the motive to bridge the gap between education and employability through technical and skill development training programs. Iris Learnings imparts practical knowledge by providing hand-on training in various sectors like Robotics, PLC, Telecom, Automotive, Agriculture and Personality Development. Iris trains the students as per industry demand and help in making them job-ready.

Iris Learnings is a vocational training provider affiliated with National Skill Development Council (NSDC) through various sector skill council like Agriculture Skill Council of India, Telecom Sector Skill Council, Automotive Skills development Council, Electronics Sector Skill Council etc. Also, it is an Authorized Training Provider for Skill Development Initiative Scheme (SDIS) of Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE&T), Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Shruti Malik, a young Technocrat & an Entrepreneur, has done Computer engineering from Thapar University, Patiala. She was comfortably placed with a Multi-National Company, Sapient Nitro in Gurugram. However, due to her passion for skilling the youth in the rural areas and to make them employable, she quit the job and started Iris Learnings along with a group of professionals.

 Till Date Iris Learnings has skilled more than 4,500 students in various parts of Haryana and Punjab in various sectors under Skill India Mission. Iris Learnings main area of operation is skill development in agriculture sector. It has trained about 2,500 rural youth under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna run by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in the following fields: Protected cultivation of floriculture (Poly house farming), Tractor operator, Sugarcane cultivation, and Dairy farming.

Apart from Agriculture, mobile repairing, call centre executive and beauty courses are high in demand due to placement opportunities.

Ms Malik said “Iris has a team of around 22 employees in her company. The trainers have appropriate qualification and long practical experience of agriculture and industry. They have been further trained by various Council of India in Train the Trainer programme.”

Iris Learnings has training centres in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal and Patiala parliamentary constituencies. Ms Malik informed that new centres are coming up in Jharkhand, Kanpur and Hardoi.
