New Delhi: The 8th Monthly meet of L earning and Development (L &D) Global Delhi Chapter was held at DSIIDC, Emporia Building Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi on 20 August 2016, which was attended by 31 members. Transactional Analysis by keynote speaker Dr Chinu Agarwal and digitization and neuroscience speech by Capt Shantanu Chakraborty were highlights of the meet.
Dr Chinu Agarwal, a renowned Psychologist, Educator and TA Practitioner spoke about Transactional Analysis. Transactional Analysis was created by Eric Berne, an American Psychologist in the early 70s, essentially as a Theory of Psychology dealing with communication based on the Freudian principles of Ego States. Dr Chinu Agarwal’s lucid explanation of Parent, Child and Adult states and examples of complimentary and crossed communication had the audience in splits and they enjoyed the learning experience. She explained the basic knowledge of psychology, neuroscience while the talk generated a fair amount of lively interaction and learning.
The next speaker was the flamboyant Capt Shantanu Chakraborty, a member of our Bangalore Chapter currently working with Cognizant in the LnD Function. He started off by redefining what ‘digital’ means and being from Forensic Psychology background; and his knowledge of the neuroscience he provided a fresh look at how digitization is on the brink of changing the essence of learning as we know it. Capt Chakraborty described more about Haptics, Gamification and Networks and how these can give data points of psychological change pertaining to learning.
Earlier, welcoming address was delivered by Ms Ranjana Nagpal and all the participants introduced themselves. The video message of Founder of L and D Global Mr Surya Prakash Mahapatra on the professional network’s vision reignited the passion of the old members and the resolve of the new ones. Delhi Chapter Director Mr Amit Jindal delivered the customary address on the monthly chapter meet.
