New Delhi, 14 November 2020: There are more than 960 universities in India. The January 2021 cycle for PhD Admission has gained momentum as a large number of universities have notified their Admission window.
Mostly, Central Government, Autonomous Institutions, and other reputed institutes offer Fellowships to regular PhD Full Time candidates. The Fellowships amount starts from Rs 31,000 per Month in addition to other benefits such as House Rent Allowance and Annual Grants.
Even some private universities such as Shiv Nadar and Ashoka University are offering Fellowships more than Rs 31, 000.
As on 14 November 2020, there are more than 30 such universities and institutions which have opened PhD Admission. These include IITs, IIMs, IISERs, Private Universities, and CSIR Research Labs.
IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Goa, IIT Dharwad, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Mandi, IIT Kharagpur have opened PhD Admission for Spring Semester 2020-21 with Institute Fellowships. IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram and IISER Berhampur have opened PhD Admission, which are offerings fellowships as per Ministry of Education, former Ministry of HRD.
IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow and IIM Calcutta have notified PhD Admission 2021 with fellowships. Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) invites application for All India PhD Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2020 – Feb 2021 Admissions. The Online All India MET will be held on 12 & 13 December 2020. Eligible and selected candidates will get Dr TMA Pai PhD scholarship benefits.
Shiv Nadar University, a private multidisciplinary research university in Noida, has announced PhD Admission for Spring 2021 for School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SME). It is a residential program with a monthly fellowship of Rs 50,000/- plus 100% tuitions fees waiver and 70% hostel fee waiver. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) announced PhD Admission with Fellowship @ 20K Per Month for Vellore, Chennai, AP and Bhopal campuses.
